Csíksomlyó Pilgrimage 2026

Friday (22 May)

• The Pentecost pilgrimage in Csíksomlyó begins with a mass at 6 pm, followed by an all-night vigil in the pilgrimage church.

Saturday (23 May)

• From 5:30 am, continuous confession and communion take place in the quadrangular courtyard of the Franciscan Monastery
• Masses at 7 am and 8 am in the pilgrimage church,
• The procession, led by the clergy, departs at 10:30 am from the Csíksomlyó Franciscan Monastery.
• Festive Mass at 12:30 pm at the Hármashalom Altar (in the Saddle between the Kis- and Nagysomlyó Hills)
• Mass at 6 pm in the Pilgrimage Church
• Night vigil, Csíksomlyó – Pilgrimage Church.

 

Parking in Csíksomlyó during Pentecost
During the Csíksomlyó Pentecost pilgrimage, traffic restrictions are in place.
According to past practice, access to Csíksomlyó is permitted without restrictions until 3-4 pm on Friday afternoon.
From Friday afternoon until 6 am on Saturday, only vehicles and buses whose registration numbers have been reported by their accommodation providers to the local Mayor's Office are allowed to access the pilgrimage church.
From 6 am on Saturday until noon on Sunday, a complete access ban is in effect.

 

Sunday (24 May)

• Mass in the Pilgrimage Church: at 7 am and 8 am
• Continuous communion and confession in the quadrangular courtyard of the monastery
• Festive Mass at 10:30 am in the Pilgrimage Church
• Departure of the pilgrim groups
• Mass at 6 pm in the Pilgrimage Church

Monday (25 May)

• Festive mass schedule in the Pilgrimage Church: at 8 am, 10:30 am, and 6 pm

Tuesday (26 May)

• Feast of Saint Anthony – masses at 8:00 am, 10:30 am, and 6:00 pm in the Pilgrimage Church.
