SUSTAINABILITY DECLARATION

The sustainability statement of Innotime Hungary Kft, the operator of the I-DEST.com platform, helps to make the sustainability efforts of the company and the platform transparent. The company also publishes a sustainability report every year on its own sustainability steps.

1. Introduction and Company Profile

Innotime Hungary Kft. is a Hungarian-based consulting company specialising in sustainable tourism development. Our activities extend beyond Hungary to encompass other Hungarian-populated regions of the Carpathian Basin, thereby contributing to cross-border sustainable tourism growth.

Our registered office is located in Bükkszék – a small forest village nestled among the Bükk Hills – which simultaneously symbolises and reinforces our commitment to nature, sustainability, and the quality of rural life.

2. Sustainability Commitment

Innotime Hungary Kft., as a responsible business, is firmly committed to conducting its operations in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and to actively contributing to the realisation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We hereby declare that:

•   We consider economic, social and environmental impacts equally in our business decisions.

•   We continuously strive to reduce our carbon footprint and minimise our ecological impact.

•   We promote the free dissemination of sustainable tourism knowledge among businesses, destinations and civil society actors.

•   We actively support biodiversity conservation and the development of local communities.

•   We review our sustainability commitments annually and publicly report on their fulfilment.

3. Our Activities by Sustainability Dimension

3.1 Environmental Dimension

Our commitments in the area of environmental protection and climate change mitigation:

Green Mobility & Emission Reduction

•   We operate a 100% green-registered (electric/hybrid) vehicle fleet.

•   Our employees work remotely (home office), significantly reducing commuting-related emissions.

•   We coordinate on-site project meetings to minimise travel requirements.

•   Wherever possible, we use public transport for meetings and appointments.

•   We maintain paperless communication and administration.

Biodiversity & Habitat Conservation

•   At our Bükkszék headquarters we have established a medicinal herb and wildflower garden.

•   We have planted indigenous fruit trees, strengthening local biodiversity.

•   Our office is situated in a forest environment, minimising ecological disruption.

•   We collect rainwater and use it for irrigation whenever possible.

Energy Efficiency

•   We use energy-efficient devices and equipment in our offices and headquarters.

•   We consciously minimise energy consumption in all daily operations.

Waste Reduction & Circular Economy

•   We do not use PET bottles; where unavoidable, the deposit refund is donated to charity.

•   We practice selective waste collection: paper, plastic, glass and other fractions are sorted separately.

•   We prefer local products for promotional purposes, reducing transportation footprint.

3.2 Social Dimension

Our commitments in the area of social responsibility and community development:

Knowledge Sharing & Capacity Building

•   We provide the free I-DEST.com self-assessment questionnaire – any tourism business anywhere in the world can generate a free sustainability report and receive benchmarking data.

•   We operate a free e-learning platform to support the sustainability development of businesses.

•   We deliver free public and B2B presentations on sustainable tourism almost every week.

•   We collaborate with Hungarian universities as guest lecturers, advisors and instructors.

•   We provide free consultations for settlements and destinations on sustainable tourism planning.

CSR & Community Engagement

•   We support the communication and marketing activities of the Novohrad-Nógrád Geopark.

•   We support civil organisations working with ill children and people with disabilities.

•   On the I-DEST platform we provide free listing for sustainable SMEs and destinations.

•   We encourage our colleagues to purchase and use local products.

Sustainable Destination Award

•   We have launched the Sustainable Destination Award to encourage and recognise the sustainable development of destinations of all sizes.

•   The award is structured into categories based on population size, ensuring that small villages and larger cities compete on equal terms.

•   The year-long structured preparation programme is freely available to all participating destinations, regardless of size.

•   Winning destinations receive one year of free, personalised professional mentoring from Innotime Hungary Kft. sustainability experts.

•   Through this award and preparation programme, we actively contribute to the practical implementation of sustainable tourism across the Carpathian Basin.

Equal Opportunity & Fair Employment

•   In selecting our team members, we uphold equal opportunity principles: no distinction is made on the basis of gender, age, nationality, disability, or any other personal characteristic.

•   We support flexible working: remote work and individually tailored schedules are standard practice.

•   We take into account our colleagues' unique life situations, including family-friendly needs (e.g. childcare, caregiving), and adapt working arrangements accordingly.

•   We strive to foster an inclusive, respectful workplace culture where everyone has equal opportunity to grow professionally.

Digital Accessibility

•   Our websites – innotime-hungary.com and I-DEST.com – are designed and operated to be fully accessible, ensuring that people with disabilities can access all digital content.

•   On the I-DEST.com platform, we separately measure and publicly present the accessibility-related services of registered destinations and tourism businesses, helping travellers with disabilities to make informed decisions.

•   In doing so, we actively contribute to the development of inclusive tourism and the expansion of accessible travel across the Carpathian Basin and beyond.
