Perseid Season at the Bükk Observatory
Discover the Perseid meteor shower under the starry skies of the Bükk Mountains.
Are you ready for one of the most spectacular celestial events of the year? This year, the Moon's phase is also favourable for observation, ensuring an exceptionally dark sky for viewing the Perseid meteor shower.
From 10–14 August, the Bükk Observatory will welcome visitors with special opening hours and programmes. The comprehensive programmes – exhibition, planetarium, and observatory – will run between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM on these days.
Instead of the usual evening programmes, the daytime guided tours will extend into the late evening hours, allowing participants of the 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM sessions to observe the Perseid meteor shower from the Observatory's terrace after dark.
Spaces are limited to a maximum of 30 people per session, so it is recommended to purchase tickets online in advance.
