Sándor Badár's solo stand-up show
Sándor Badár is an improvisational comedian and actor, not to mention a true globetrotting adventurer.
He studied at the drama department of the Horváth Mihály Grammar School in Szentes, where he was classmates with future well-known creators such as Tamás Hevesi, Zoltán Ternyák, and Csaba Jantyik. After finishing school, he worked on the railways for twelve years: initially as a pointsman, then as a traffic controller. When invited, he appears in films – his inimitable character, unique humour, and improvisations have made him one of the distinctive figures of contemporary Hungarian cinema. He is a close friend of András Szőke and a recurring actor in his works.
His career has always been strongly influenced by his relationship with animals: alongside Happy Horses, he had to manage Paper Dogs, a Lemon Pig, and even a Cotton Hen before he could touch The Discreet Charm of the Media. Nowadays, he professionally tells “Badárisms” and can be satisfied, as even the fabulous Africa has succumbed to him. He still hasn’t made friends with foreign languages, despite successfully completing an Italian teleshopping language course.
