A performance by the Loupe theatre company.
Written by János Antal Horváth, inspired by and despite the actors' improvisations.
Two couples are having lunch together, as they have every other week for the past ten years. The women are sisters. It's a long-standing tradition that has become not only natural but also burdensome over time, yet they still stick to it. However, this time feels different. There's something in the air today. In the already tense atmosphere of the country. Soon, notifications ping on their phones: the head of state is about to make an announcement. What could it be this time? A video message to the nation begins, recorded in front of the national flag. The country has been attacked. A missile has struck a border village. Four people have died. The country cannot stand idly by in the face of the unjust deaths of its citizens. Action must be taken. This is now our war too. The conscription of all men of military age is immediately ordered. In twelve hours, the borders will be closed. The characters must make quick decisions that could affect their entire lives. The question is whether they can live with those decisions. Is it worth living without a homeland? Or is it worth dying for a homeland that may never truly be ours again? In the end, they might not even make it out of the room, let alone the country.
The performance is not recommended for viewers under the age of 16.
