The building itself carries a message: its distinctive elliptical shape, covered with stainless steel adorned with Arabic calligraphy, symbolises the continuity of knowledge and openness towards the future. The inscriptions on the façade reflect the thoughts of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, emphasising the importance of creativity, human development, and a sustainable future.

The museum is not a traditional exhibition space but rather an immersive experience centre that guides visitors through the potential paths of humanity in the coming decades via interactive installations. Its themed floors explore areas such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, the future of healthcare, ecosystem preservation, climate protection, renewable energy, and the sustainable transformation of food production. Visitors can participate in a mission to an imagined future space station, learn about the state of fragile ecosystems through digital reconstructions of wildlife, and gain insights into technological solutions for urban renewal in interactive labs.

Sustainability is one of the museum's core principles, not only in the content of its exhibitions but also in the operation of the building. The Museum of the Future is one of the most energy-efficient public buildings in the world: a significant portion of its energy comes from renewable sources, its heating and cooling systems are AI-controlled to optimise consumption, and water usage is reduced through rainwater harvesting and smart recycling systems. During construction, low-carbon materials, recycled cladding elements, and carbon-reduced concrete solutions were used.

In its programmes, the museum places a strong emphasis on the impacts of climate change and urban sustainability. Visitors can explore projects showcasing the vertical farms of the future, desalination-based drinking water systems, and low-emission city models. Special attention is given to the new relationship between nature and technology: how artificial intelligence can assist in monitoring wildlife, reducing environmental pollution, and implementing climate adaptation strategies.

The Museum of the Future also functions as an educational and community hub. It organises innovation workshops, mentorship programmes for young researchers, and international conferences on sustainability, aiming to ensure that visitors are not just passive observers but active contributors to shaping the future. The experience does not end with the exhibition: the museum aspires to be a global knowledge-sharing platform, connecting researchers, tech start-ups, universities, and civil organisations.

The Museum of the Future is not merely a spectacular tourist attraction but a space for transformative thinking that inspires, educates, and motivates action. It holds symbolic significance for Dubai, conveying the message that innovation and economic development can only achieve long-term success when combined with environmental responsibility and the promotion of human well-being.
