On Visit Miskolc’s special themed walk, you won’t just observe the world of theatre from the audience – we’ll step behind the scenes.
The programme starts at Déryné’s former house, the legendary actress whose name is forever intertwined with the history of theatre in Miskolc. From here, we’ll walk through the city centre, bringing theatrical stories, artistic destinies, and urban legends to life.
At the end of the walk, we’ll arrive at the 203-year-old Miskolc National Theatre, where a unique experience awaits:
- a glimpse behind the scenes
- exploration of the theatre’s hidden spaces
- a 15-minute mini performance
- a visit to the Actor’s Museum, where memories of legendary artists await
- and for those who wish, the chance to don a costume and step onto the stage for a special selfie
This walk is more than just sightseeing.
It’s a meeting with the theatrical soul of Miskolc.
Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Duration: approx. 3 hours
Participants of the walk also have the opportunity to complete their behind-the-scenes experience with an evening performance at the Miskolc National Theatre on the same day.
Theatre performances are usually in high demand, and tickets often sell out weeks in advance.
If you wish to combine the walk with a theatre evening, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance online via the theatre’s official ticketing platform.
The themed walk will only take place with a minimum of 10 paying participants. If the experience programme is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, this will not affect the theatre performance, which will still go ahead. Therefore, we are unable to refund the cost of any theatre tickets purchased.
