Detailed route descriptions can be found on the borbringa.hu website. The route was compiled by the staff of the Tokaj Wine Region Development Nonprofit Ltd., and its publication was authorised by them. 

This tour has truly earned the label 'extreme': among all our routes, this one offers the most intense challenge in terms of elevation gain. Although the distance may not seem long, most of the climb is concentrated in the first half of the tour: over a stretch of about 6.3 kilometres, you’ll tackle 440 metres of elevation gain, averaging a 7% gradient. Adding to this are the technical forest trails, meaning that in addition to excellent fitness, a high level of bike-handling skills is essential for safe completion.

For safety and terrain reasons, the tour can only be completed in one direction! Starting from Tokaj, we head towards Bodrogkeresztúr on the cycle path, then turn left onto the road leading to the Minaro Hotel. This section is short-lived: we soon switch to a dirt road, then a forest trail, which takes us to the upper third of the road leading to the TV tower. We climb to the summit on a steep road, partially covered with remnants of asphalt.

Descending from the tower, the ride begins on a highly technical, steep, stepped trail scattered with roots and rocks. After leaving the whimsically named Cow Dance Peak, the quality of the path steadily improves, and the section ends with a winding concrete serpentine road leading all the way down to the Szerelmi Wine Cellars. From there, we rejoin the cycle path through the town, heading back to the starting point.

Practical Information:

• Surface: The forest trail section is unpaved, while the rest of the tour follows stabilised or paved roads.

• Weather and traction: Water drains relatively quickly from the forest trail, so it is only impassable during or immediately after rain. However, always check the ground conditions for adequate traction before setting off!
