Hévíz Tours / Poets, Writers, and Love Stories in Hévíz

On our new sightseeing walk, we follow in the footsteps of poets and writers who came to Hévíz seeking peace, healing, and inspiration. The plaques and statues come to life, sharing marvellous words and poems from the pens of renowned authors.

During our walk, we’ll share stories about the poets and writers who created their works in Hévíz, such as Zsigmond Móricz, Lőrinc Szabó, Csokonai, or Berzsenyi. You’ll discover how they spent their time here and what left them in awe. We’ll also explore why this city, famous for its thermal lake, could become a cultural hub. We’ll talk about how the well-known contemporary literary journal "Hévíz" started here 32 years ago, or the Csokonai Society, which has been a reliable cultural cornerstone for 38 years. Fans of lighter genres will also find something of interest, as a contemporary crime writer has chosen this city as their home. Additionally, we’ll share some stories for children, as entertaining and insightful children’s tales about Hévíz have been penned by local authors.

This walk is perfect for those who love literature, or even for those who have never been fond of this art form but are passionate about Hévíz and eager to discover a different side of the city.
