Harness Racing Club Ljutomer

The Ljutomer Trotter Museum at the Ljutomer Hippodrome offers a unique insight into over 152 years of harness racing tradition. As the cradle of Slovenian harness racing and the home of the oldest harness racing club in Slovenia, it brings visitors closer to the history, breeding development, and significance of the horse. The visit includes a museum collection, a short film with Jona, and the opportunity to see the hippodrome, stables, training sessions, and harness racing horses.

General Library Ljutomer, Museum Department At the museum, visitors can enjoy a self-guided or guided tour of three permanent collections: the collection of the First Slovenian Tabor, the collection dedicated to Dr Karol Grossmann, and the collection on the general history of Ljutomer. Through diverse museum exhibits, visitors learn about significant events, personalities, and the development of the town and the wider Prlekija region. A unique feature of the guided tour is the presentation of the first three Slovenian film recordings by Dr Karol Grossmann. The museum offers an engaging cultural and historical experience for all generations.
