Destinations on this route

A detailed description of the route can be found on the borbringa.hu website. The route was designed by the staff of Tokaj Wine Region Development Nonprofit Ltd., and its publication was authorised by them.

This tour is specifically designed for those who enjoy sporty cycling. Completion is recommended primarily for experienced cyclists in good physical condition – even when using an e-bike, good fitness and confident bike handling are essential.

It’s worth starting the loop heading east, so at the beginning of the tour, you circle the famous Király Hill, where one breathtaking viewpoint follows another. In this section, you’ll pass through a nearly 3-kilometre forest trail, while the rest of the route winds through the Mád hills, mostly on well-maintained gravel roads.

Descending from the section above the Király and Kővágó Hills, you’ll almost reach the village again, but here you turn north to circle the Bomboly Hill as well. Continuing, you’ll approach Mád once more, passing the picturesque Mád Lake, before joining the Panorama Trail via a rockier, rougher gravel climb. From here, you’ll follow this scenic route southwards, finally rolling into Mád through the Birsalmás Hill.

Practical Information and Safety Tips:

  • Road Surface and Weather: A significant portion of the route consists of unpaved vineyard roads and forest trails, so the tour is not feasible in rainy or muddy conditions.

  • Descents and Speed Control: This tour is particularly characterised by steep, technical descents. Always proceed with extra caution and adjust your speed according to the terrain conditions when descending!
