Forest Gastro Express Experience Tour

Our guests can take part in a forest gastronomy tour on the Forest Gastro Express, departing from the Michelin-recommended Végállomás Restaurant, which takes them to the Edible Forest stop in the Bükk Mountains. Here, participants can explore the edible parts of the surrounding Bükk forest on a wild plant discovery tour, guided by experts and accompanied by forest stand-up comedy.

During the forest train ride, you will learn about the secrets of collecting and using wild greens, wild fruits, and mushrooms.

The guided tour is led by two experts, including Gyula Bózsó, a certified forest engineer, forest food scout, mushroom inspector, and edible wild plant expert – the author of the book "The Forest is Delicious".

Optional programme:
An extra gastronomic experience at the Végállomás Restaurant, which can be booked separately on the restaurant's website. This is not part of the basic excursion but is closely connected to it:

• Flavours of Bükk – a four-course Gastro Express tasting menu

• The autumn menu will be announced later. As an example, here is the current menu:

  Chef's Greeting:

  Venison tartare, hyssop mayonnaise, savoury tart  (1,7)

  Starter:

  Smoked trout fillet from Szilvásvárad, crab apple, purslane, dill flower, snake onion tuile (4)

  Main Course:

  Butter-roasted pheasant ballotine, juniper jus, wild garlic capers, chamomile parsnip purée, porcini potato galette (1,7)

  Dessert:

  Elderberry, white chocolate, wild pear (1,3,7)

• Allergens present in the dishes: 1. Cereals containing gluten and products thereof, 3. Eggs and products thereof, 4. Fish and products thereof, 7. Milk and products thereof

• The menu can be paired with wines, but we also offer non-alcoholic options, including "A Drop of Forest", which can be ordered on-site during the event.

Departure and return: From the Dorottya Street terminus of the Lillafüred State Forest Railway.

Ticket types:

• Category 1: Excursion Ticket (6,990 HUF) – mandatory for all participants
• Category 2: Registration Ticket (0 HUF) for the Edible Forest four-course menu (Optional programme)

IMPORTANT: The registration ticket for the four-course menu is only valid together with the purchase of the menu ticket available on the Végállomás Bistro&Wine website. The registration ticket alone does NOT grant participation in the optional programme.
