More information

The Terrace of Youth and Encounters is the largest, continuous reception area of the hanging garden, offering relaxation for visitors and serving as a play area for children. From the Waterfall Terrace, there is a stunning, close-up view of Hungary's tallest waterfall, the 20-metre-high Szinva Waterfall. The Terrace of Flowers is a garden offering a vibrant array of flowers from spring to autumn. The Terrace of Music is a venue for chamber concerts and solo performances. On the Terrace of Poetry, you’ll find the full-figure statue of Attila József, as the poet was inspired by his stay in Lillafüred to write his poem "Ode." The statue and its surroundings serve as a venue for events related to poetry and literature. The Terrace of Sculpture is an exhibition space for statues and works of art, including a piece by sculptor Éva Varga. The artist immortalised the great natural scientist Ottó Herman, holding birds in his hands. The pathway running through the hanging garden is a "thematic promenade," which connects to the Szinva Nature Trail, enriched by nine stops. Each stop highlights themes such as poetry, poets, natural scientists, and love, while also emphasising natural and man-made environmental elements: the waterfall – Hungary's tallest – the Anna Cave, the Garadna Stream, the Attila József statue, and the "Ode" quote engraved in stone. The area is partially accessible, with the terraces connected by longer and shorter flights of stairs.
