Szinva Nature Trail
The Szinva Nature Trail, also known as the eastern gateway to the Bükk National Park, stretches from the Ottó Herman Memorial Park all the way to Lillafüred.
Walking along the four-kilometre-long nature trail, you can explore the valleys of the Szinva and Garadna streams and the Kiss Plateau, gaining insight into the area's natural and cultural heritage.
Nature Trail in the Bükk
The hiking route is classified as a comprehensive environmental education trail, offering a broad overview of the local flora and fauna, as well as an impressive geological perspective of the Bükk Mountains.
The most beautiful stops along the Szinva Nature Trail include the alder grove by the Szinva Stream, the hornbeam-oak forest community of Molnár Rock, and the flora and fauna of the limestone rock meadows. This area is also rich in unique geological phenomena, as it is one of the country's most karst-rich regions.
The ancient home of prehistoric humans
Hiking in this part of the Bükk is like taking a journey back in time, as it is home to the "centre" of the prehistoric Szeleta culture: the Szeleta Cave and the Szeleta Shaft, which are among Hungary's most significant archaeological sites.
