The Park System of Miskolctapolca

In 2023, the ancient park located next to the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath underwent a complete renovation. During the development, the walking paths, utility network, and public lighting were renewed, and around 30,000 plants were added to the area. The park was also enriched with new attractions: miniature bronze statues, interactive information boards, and wooden play sculptures await visitors.

The bronze statues showcase the tourism and cultural values of Miskolc, as well as the characteristic wildlife of the city and its surroundings. One unique feature of their placement is that they invite visitors to a kind of 'treasure hunt': those who find all the statues will also discover the hidden values of the Miskolctapolca park along the way.

Among the statues, visitors can find a miniature of Mancs, the legendary rescue dog of Miskolc, a Benedictine monk evoking the sacred past of the region, and the swans that have been associated with the boating lake of Miskolctapolca for decades. The attractions also include miniature replicas of the Avas Lookout Tower and the Diósgyőr Castle.
